Sarah Chen-Spellings

Sarah Chen-Spellings is an investor and capital strategist focused on long-term value creation, innovation, and the stewardship of capital.

She previously co-founded and led Beyond The Billion, launched as The Billion Dollar Fund for Women, a global consortium of 122 venture funds advancing women-founded companies. Over the course of the initiative, participating funds deployed more than $1.04 billion into over 1,300 companies, with partner portfolios backing 16 women-led unicorns, including Canva and Airwallex.

Earlier in her career, Sarah was a corporate venture capitalist at a publicly listed Asian conglomerate, where she helped build a venture investment platform from the ground up and invested in growth-stage bio-based companies.

Recognized as a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader and a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, Sarah has spoken and moderated conversations at forums including the World Economic Forum, the World Bank Meetings, the Forbes Under 30 Summit, TEDx, and the World Affairs Councils of America. Her work and commentary have been featured in publications including Fortune, Forbes, Bloomberg, and Der Spiegel.

In 2022, Sarah created and launched Billion Dollar Moves, a long-form interview series featuring founders, investors, and leading capital allocators. Through conversations with billionaires, unicorn founders, and global investors, the series explored company building, capital allocation, leadership, and decision-making under uncertainty.
